Let us think on flags




My grandmothers word
The day is hot enough to crack the flags.
A summer of crackin flags

Flagstone pavements
Lothostrotos
The place of judgement
Even now below
Jerusalem stones

And that other flag
Vexillum legionis
A standard raised
The eagle of the ninth

Union flags aloft in London
Heading up the T.U.C

Singed and smoking
Flags of Africa

Pale blue Sunday flags
On Spanish streets
Victory and expectation.

A weekend of flags
You would think
After all these years
The urge to wave
Would be flagging

Not waving but drow....
