Do you remember
Under laburnum days
The lemon cascades
Brought to earth
By early summer rain?
The unfurling crosiate fern
Touched by diamond dew
A quenching fairy thirst
That caught my arm
Along the forest walk.
And now the pleasure pain
Just a memory
Of walking once again
To recapture
The poet's careless rapture.
