The Dawn
Oh how grey this day
How wanting of relief
How dark the hours
Are tempting of belief.
Noon
Oh for a touch of sun
To banish all this gloom
Lift the drooping spirit
And lighten up the room.
Evening
The coldness and my shiver
Have extinguished all desire
Except to gather up a shawl
And put bellows to the fire.
