Today
Pale sunlight
Flecked the distant fell
Picked out
The vestiges
Of snow,
Touched standing water
Gold flashed
Below slow sheep
Grazing higher ground
Before a harsh horizon,
Then through trees
Caught the kestrel
Buff breasted
Hovering still.
Preying,
As we travel homewards
Before a pink
Reluctant
Sunset.
