Cold Stone

Wild white moors
Beginning edges
Snow behind walls
Create an etching
Of wild grasses
Etched with grey stone .
Whipped cuttings
And barest trees.
Farmhouse dereliction
Strains the soul
With a cold grin
I hold a smile.
